【题   目】Nanoscale Dynamic Light Control based on Bound States in the Continuums


【摘  要】Dynamic control of light properties (such as frequency, momentum, space, polarization, and angular momentum) is a core technology in optical communications, antenna radar and imaging detection, etc. In order to achieve the continuous miniaturization of optical devices, people need to achieve precise control of light fields at the nanoscale. Traditional methods (e.g. electro-optical effect) change light properties by actively regulating the refractive index of an optical system. However, at nano-scales, weak nonlinear effects will make the optical response of the device change slightly with the stimulus, resulting in larger device sizes.

Here, we propose a novel method for dynamically controlling light at the nanoscale. We use phase-change materials to dynamically change the topological properties of optical systems to construct different kinds of bound states in the continuums (BIC), and achieve flexible control of light properties such as frequency, momentum, and angular momentum at a small scale. We realize a beam switcher by dynamically splitting and merging the topological charge, a tunable BIC nanolaser by tuning system’s ohmic loss, and a reconfigurable OAM generator.



【报告人简介】毛逸飞,上海交通大学长聘教轨副教授。2012年和2017年分别在西安电子科技大学和北京大学获得学士和博士学位。2017年至2021年在北京大学从事博士后工作。研究方向为先进微纳制备技术与纳光子器件与物理。发表第一/共一论文期刊包括Nature、Advanced Materials、Laser & Photonics Reviews、Nano letters、Physical Review B等。研究成果入选2020年度中国半导体十大研究进展和2020年度中国光学十大进展。
