【题  目】Exciton fine structure splitting in quantum dots:A quick overview from fundamentals to applications.

【摘  要】In this talk, I will consider the fine splitting between exciton states in the optical spectra of quantum dots. I will present an overview on aspects ranging from the underlying physics, related to indistinguishability of quantum particles, to some effects on applications, like polarization fidelity in photon emission and quantum key distribution for secured communications.

【作者简介】Hanz Y. Ramírez obtained his degree as physicist from National University of Colombia and his Ph.D. from Universidad de Los Andes. Later on, he worked as postdoctoral researcher in National Yang-Ming Chiao-Tung University, University of Science and Technology of China, and University of Delaware. He is currently full Professor in the School of Physics of Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia, where he leads the Research Groups “Theoretical and computational Physics” and “Quantum Computing and Information Theory".
